As an emerging form of online medical services, online hospitals have attracted increasing attentions in recent years. Some major players in the industry have already launched their online hospitals, such as Ali Health Online Hospital and Wuzhen Online Hospital, to further compete for market shares in the growing healthcare industry of China. While the Chinese government has expressed a supportive view towards online hospitals, there are numerous problems and challenges from both legal and practical perspectives regarding this quickly evolving industry. In this summary, we have introduced the regulatory framework for online hospitals and briefly discussed several major legal and practical challenges in this respect. (Full text in Chinese only)
