The outbreak of global pandemic, COVID-19 virus, has greatly stimulated people’s needs for online medical services and further boosted the emergence and development of various online medical platforms providing such services as clinic appointment services, general medical consultation, diagnosing services, remote medical consultation and among others. Meanwhile, legal problems and challenges regarding this quickly evolving industry are starting to draw more and more attentions of the administrative and regulatory agencies. In this reference memorandum, we have briefly introduced and analyzed several major PRC legal and compliance issues related to online medical diagnosing activities based on applicable PRC law, the latest market practice and our past experience.
