Evelyn Shao is a counsel at Han Yi Law Firm. Her primary practice focuses on private equity, mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, project finance, dispute resolution and general corporate matters.
Evelyn has extensive experience advising on transaction structuring, antitrust analysis, national security review, data compliance, acquisition/project financing, post-investment management, and exit strategies in the context of equity investments and M&A transactions. She has represented leading domestic and international investment institutions, strategic investors, listed companies, and state-backed funds in complex cross-border equity and asset acquisitions, Sino-foreign joint ventures, and overseas listings. Her sector experience spans healthcare and life sciences, consumer and retail, fintech, and advanced manufacturing.
Prior to joining Han Yi, Evelyn practiced at a major PRC law firm and the Shanghai office of a prominent U.S. law firm, where she worked on a broad range of matters including private equity and venture capital deals, restructuring and IPO transactions, compliance investigations, as well as legal advisory work related to wealth management and asset management products offered by banks.
